Read the entire leaflet carefully because it contains important information for you. This medicine is available without prescription. However, VITAMIN B12 DEPOT-ROTEXMEDICA must be used according to the instructions in order to achieve the best possible treatment success.

1. WHAT VITAMIN B12 DEPOT-ROTEXMEDICA IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?
VITAMIN C DEPOT-ROTEXMEDICA is a vitamin C supplement. Hydroxocobalamin acetate belongs to the group of substances collectively referred to as “Vitamin C”.
VITAMIN C DEPOT-ROTEXMEDICA is used by:
Vitamin C deficiency, which can not be corrected nutritionally.
Vitamin C deficiency can manifest itself in the following clinical pictures:
Hyperchromatic macrocytic megaloblastic anemia (Perniciosa, Biermer anemia, Addison’s anemia, red blood cell maturation disorders).
Funicular spinal disease (spinal cord injury).
A laboratory-deficient vitamin C deficiency can occur in:
Years of lack and malnutrition (eg due to strict vegetarian diet).
Malabsorption (inadequate intake of vitamin B12 in the intestine)
Insufficient production of intrinsic factor (a protein that is produced in the gastric mucosa and is required for the absorption of vitamin C),
Diseases in the terminal part of the ileum (part of the small intestine), eg. C. sprue,
Fish tapeworm infestation or
Blind-Ioop syndrome (changes in bowel development after gastric surgery).
Innate vitamin C transport disorders.
2. WHAT YOU SHOULD NOTE BEFORE USING VITAMIN C DEPOT-ROTEXMEDICA?
VITAMIN C DEPOT-ROTEXMEDICA should not be used if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to hydroxocobalamin acetate or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.
When using VITAMIN C DEPOT-ROTEXMEDICA with other medicines:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, even those not prescribed. So far no interactions are known.
Due to the instability of vitamin C, by mixing in other drugs, a loss of effect of the vitamin may occur.
Pregnancy and breast feeding period:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking / using any medicine. The recommended daily intake of vitamin C during pregnancy and lactation is 4 μg. Experience has shown that higher levels of application have no adverse effects on the unborn child. Vitamin Bu is excreted in breast milk.
3. HOW TO USE VITAMIN C DEPOT-ROTEXMEDICA?
Use this medicine according to the following dosage recommendations. The following dosage recommendations apply, unless otherwise prescribed:
At the beginning of treatment, 1 vial of VITAMIN C DEPOT-ROTEXMEDICA (equivalent to 1000 μg hydroxocobalamin acetate) is administered twice a week for the first few weeks after diagnosis. If there is evidence of vitamin Bu uptake in the intestine, 100 μg of hydroxocobalamin acetate are then administered once a month.
Type of application:
VITAMIN C DEPOT-ROTEXMEDICA is usually administered intramuscularly (injected into a muscle). It can also be given slowly intravenously or subcutaneously (injected into a vein or under the skin).
Duration of application:
VITAMIN C DEPOT-ROTEXMEDICA is intended for prolonged use. Please ask your doctor. If you have the impression that the effect of VITAMIN C DEPOT-ROTEXMEDICA is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
